Philip Health Care to set up hospital
Philip Health Care Solutions (Pvt) Ltd has received Board of
Investment (BOI) approval to set up a hospital in Kalutara, with an
initial investment of Rs 300 million.
It will be a full-fledged private hospital with state-of-the-art
facilities.
Philip Health Care will comprise 24-hour ambulance service,
channeling, consultation, state-of-the-art emergency unit, scanning
facilities, OPD, ECG unit, X ray unit, laboratory services and many
other healthcare services.
"A hospital of this nature has been a long-felt need for the public
in the area," a hospital spokesman said.
Abans opens iStore at the Racecourse
The sixth Apple iStore was opened by Abans at the Racecourse
recently.
Abans Apple iStore has the entire range of Apple products from iPods
to MacBooks, Macbook Pros, Mac Minis and the new iMacs. The store also
introduces Harmon Kardon and JBL headphones and displays a top range of
LG mobile phones including the LG Optimus G-Pro and LG Optimus G.
The LG G2 and LG Nexus 5 will be launched at the store soon.
"Abans Apple iStore at the Racecourse promises to be a pleasant and

guaranteed genuine products," a company spokesman said.
People's Bank launches operations for 2014
The staff of People's Bank launched operations for the New Year on
January 1 by taking the Government Service Oath at a ceremony at the
head office premises. Religious observances were also held.
People's Bank Chairman Gamini S. Senarath spoke on the bank's
aspirations for the New Year and on achieving the goals that have been
set.
Chief Executive Officer and General Manager N. Vasantha Kumar, senior
executives, representatives of trade unions, religious organisations,
other voluntary organisations and staff members were present. |
