Advantage to Lankans who must dominate Second Test
Mathews marvellous and magnificent :
Now that the Sri Lankans have made a great
escape and drawn the First of Three Test matches against Pakistan in
Abu Dhabi, it should give them the much needed confidence to do
better in the Second Test in Dubai starting on January 8. It was one
of the best knocks from a captain played by Angelo Mathews, helped
by admirable supporting roles from vice captain Dinesh Chandimal and
Prasanna Jayewardene that helped in the great escape.

Mathews praises fighting spirit of the team
It was a jubilant Sri Lanka captain Angelo
Mathdews who faced the press at the end of the drawn First Test that
ended in Sri Lanka’s favour and said: “First off all we had to make
sure that we could save the game. We did not want to get into a
losing position. We knew wicket was not playing that much. We made
sure we got to 300 first,” said skipper Mathews when asked whether
he expected to bowl out Pakistan in 67 over by declaring.

runs after just two days of the final Sydney Ashes Test on Saturday.
The relentless Australians blasted out the hapless tourists for 155
