Sitsabaiesan not on a pleasure trip
The Jaffna-born and raised in Canada since age
five, Canadian parliamentarian Rathika Sitsabaiesan's tour from
December 28 through January 3 in Sri Lanka's predominantly ethnic
Tamil northern region was not to exchange pleasantries with her long
lost kith and kin, but on ‘foreign-influenced activities’ well known
to her parliamentary colleagues, the Harper regime, and most
importantly, to the Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS).

Sri Lanka's defeat of terrorism: Did Tamils want LTTE
eliminated?
There is one question that, if honestly
answered, would provide the only solution to burying the past and
getting on with the future and that is for Tamils to finally ask
themselves whether they are happy the LTTE is no more and whether
they want to continue to be a part of plots to resurrect a terror
period that some are working towards achieving. Did the Tamils not
want the LTTE eliminated? Was the country mistaken to think that the
Tamils wanted the LTTE eliminated?

Timely detection prevents disaster:
Hazardous radioactive container rejected at Colombo harbour
Handling radioactive material knowingly or
unknowingly could cause serious consequences and a milder exposure
could lead to a cancer. A deeper exposure could eventually cause
severe organ damage or ultimately death. Sri Lanka had a near miss
when a container full of radioactive material arrived at the Colombo
Port recently that could have caused a disaster if not for the
mindful handling of the Customs officials.
