Major honours for Thomians

St. Thomas College Mt. Lavinia has to be satisfied with a first innings win over ST. Benedicts College, Kotahena in their inter school under 19 cricket match played at Mt. Lavinia.

Continuing on at 120 for 5 on day two in reply to Bens total of 140 runs Thomians declared at 165 for 9 with Sachin Jayathilleke 24 and Helakamal Nanayakkara unbeaten on 25 runs and Geethika Jayatilleke had a fine spell of bowling with 5 for 32 for the visitors.

Bens in their second essay batted cautiously through out the day for 247 minutes and at stamps they were 206 for 7 with Yohan Soysa unbeaten on 51 Sithum Wijesinghe 49 and Shiran Rathnayake 45 and Sahan Wijesinghe was the most sucesssful bowler for the homesters with 2 for 32.

St. Beneedicts – 140 and 206/7 (Shiran Rathnayake 45, Sithum Wijesinghe 49, Yohan Soysa 51, N/o, Sahan Wijesinghe 2/32, Ravindu Thilakarathne 2/57.
