North Western Province (WPC) Chief Minister Dayasiri Jayasekara will take steps to provide official motor cycles to representatives of local bodies in the Kurunegala and Puttalam districts of the Province to motivate them to fulfilling their services to the public more efficiently and expeditiously.

The councillors would also be offered with All-Island JP posts so that they can help the public better in their day-to-day official requirements.

The Chief Minister intends holding mobile services at electoral level to solve the pressing problems of the people in the NWP this year with the participation of top Government authorities.

All Divisional Secretaries in the Province would be educated on providing a people-friendly service.

Rs. 150 million would be spent on developing maternity clinics in the NWP this year while 275 education programs would be held for 15,000 pregnant women on proper nutrition methods and the importance of consuming locally-grown vegetables, fruits and green leaves so that their children would be healthy, said Kuliyapitiya PS Councillor and PR Officer of the NWP Chief Minister, Chandana Pushpakumara at a media conference at Katupotha, Kurunegala.
