APEA helps build entrepreneurial culture
The third consecutive Asia Pacific Entrepreneurship Awards (APEA) was
held last week in Colombo to recognise and reward fine business
practices. Fostering and nurturing new entities help build an
entrepreneurial culture in Sri Lanka.
"We believe that entrepreneurship does not only provides a compelling
alternative to people to continue their livelihood, but also serves as
an important catalyst to spur economic development in the country", said
Chairman Enterprise Asia, Tan Sri Datuk Seri Dr Fong Chan Onn.
The awards will be an encouragement to entrepreneurs in Sri Lanka to
rise to the challenge of business excellence and innovation, he said.
The international financial sector still encounter risks and,
therefore, growth driven by innovation is important. The risks also
highlight the significance of entrepreneurship, he said.
