Int'l IFAA confab on March 5

The International Federation of Adjusting Associations (IFAA) will host its fourth conference, ‘Best Practice for Loss Adjusting in South Asia’ on Wednesday, March 5 from 8.30 a.m. to 7.15 p.m. at the Cinnamon Grand.

Speakers and panellists from London, Dubai, Singapore and Colombo will address and discuss claims, business interruption, forensic investigation, legal aspects of claims-adjusting and customer loyalty.

The IFAA, a worldwide organisation, established to promote the role of loss-adjusting associations, their members and member associations, is headed by Nihal Bogahalande of Sri Lanka, the Managing Director of Concordia Consultancy South Asia (Pte) Ltd.

The event is coordinated by Anushki (+94 777 877 850).


Forensic diploma course begins in April

The next diploma course in Forensic Medicine and Science conducted by the Department of Forensic Medicine and Toxicology of the University of Colombo will commence in April. The course is open to all practising lawyers and those who have a basic degree in Law.

The duration of the course is one year (three terms) with approximately 100 hours of instruction. The lectures, seminars, practical demonstrations and tutorials will be held on Saturdays.

Ananda Mithurusara 2014 on March 9

‘Ananda Mithurusara 2014’, the get-together of the Old Boys of Ananda College will be held at the G.H. Buddhadasa Grounds, Battaramulla on March 9 from 8.30 a.m. throughout the day.

The event organised by the Ananda College Old Boys’ Association, will feature several programs.


SOS: Kidney transplant

Twenty-three-year-old Radika Nishani of Akurugoda, Sultanagoda is suffering from end-stage acute renal failure. Consultant Nephrologist of the Colombo National Hospital Dr. Eranga Wijewickrama has recommended kidney transplantation estimated to cost approximately Rs. 1.6 million which her parents find it difficult to meet due to needy circumstances.
