Anika wins under-12 and under-14 Girls singles

Anika Seneviratne won the under 12 and under 14 Girls singles conducted at the Colombo Oval by Tamil 'union Sports club this week.

It was a tough competition with over 80 entries for the 2 age groups and her victories was even more commendable since she won all her matches in straight sets.

She beat Nehara Weerawansa 6/2 6/1 in the under 12 final and defeated Paboda Jayasekera 6/3 7/ 6 (2) in the under 14 singles final.

She also paired her sister Alana and came in to the under 14 girls final which they lost in a hard fought contest 9/6 to Tara Greg and Sethara Ambawatte.

The girls under 10 was won by Anjalika Kurera beating Ashanthi Seneviratne 7/6(6).

The boys under 14 saw top seed Nadun Senadeera beat Nelaka Dissanayake 6/2 6/1.

Boys under 12 saw Top seed Ashen Silva beat bottom seed Nelaka Dissanayke 7/6 6/3. Boys under 14 doubles was won by Vikum jayasooriya and Nadun Senadeera beat brothers Nelaka and Nuwantha Dissanayke 9/5.

The boys under 10 was won by Akith Senaratne beating Apna Perera 7/5.
