ComBank constructs villa at 'Abhimansala 3'

The CSR Trust of the Commercial Bank of Ceylon constructed and furnished a villa at 'Abhimansala 3' - the life-long care centre for differently-abled war heroes in Pangolla, Kurunegala.

It was opened by President Mahinda Rajapaksa recently. The villa, which is one of eight at the centre, comprises two bedrooms, a living room cum TV lounge and bathrooms custom designed and equipped for the use of differently-abled military personnel. It will cater to four occupants. 'Abhimansala 3' will accommodate 52 people, 32 of them in eight villas donated by corporate entities including Commercial Bank, and 20 in a hospital within the complex.

The centre also has a therapy swimming pool and other facilities including a gym and an Ayurvedic therapy centre and several cottages for visiting relatives.

Abhimansala projects are managed by the Brave Hearts Foundation which is affiliated to the Army Branch of the Seva Vanitha Foundation.

"Commercial Bank considers it a duty to support war heroes as part of its responsibility to the community," Managing Director and CEO of the Bank, Ravi Dias said.
