Only 215 votes separate top runner Samarasinghe from Pathirana in main contest

A close tussle is on, in all three segments, Platinum, Gold and Silver in the Sunday Observer/Mobitel Most Popular Schoolboy Cricketer of the Year Contest this year. Harith Samarasinghe (48,207) of Royal College, Colombo managed to maintain his lead with a majority of 215 votes over his closest rival and teammate Randev Pathirana (47,992) in the ‘Platinum’ Contest for division one schools at the end of count number 14.

Hong Kong in 41-10 win over Lanka

Sri Lanka's chances of remaining in the top plummetted when they were comprehensively beaten by Hong Kong by 41 points (six tries, four conversion, one penalty) to 10 (one goal, one penalty) in the second Asian Five Nations fifteen a side rugby encounter played at the Race Course grounds under light yesterday.
