Asia-Maldives hospitality exhibition in August
Food and Hospitality Asia-Maldives 2014 (FHAM) exhibition and
international culinary challenge organised by Dhivehi Expo of the
Maldives with CDC Events and Travels (Pvt) Ltd. will be inaugurated in
the Maldives on August 24.
The three-day event at the Dharubaaruge Exhibition Centre in Male
will help exploit Sri Lankan and Maldivian markets by facilitating trade
between the exhibitors from all over the world offering products and
services needed by the world class resort industry of the Maldives. CDC
Events and Travels Director Imran Hassan said, "The hotel and leisure
industry is thriving in the Maldives. There are over 100 world-class
resorts operating there. Sri Lankan service providers can use this
opportunity to enter the Maldivian market and tap the vast potential
available here. FHAM 2014 is a Maldivian Government endorsed expo."
The International Culinary Challenge, which will be held
concurrently, with the Chefs Guild of Sri Lanka will attract over 500
entries from Chefs of resorts, hotels and restaurants in the Maldives
and other countries of the Asian region.
The FHAM Culinary Challenge will act as an ideal platform for local
and international food and beverage executives to meet Chefs and discuss
their needs. The Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Studies of the
University of Maldives is extending exclusive support to FHA Maldives
2014.
Exhibitors due to take part in FHAM 2014 will represent the premises
and facilities management sector, food and beverage, catering equipment
and services sector, furniture and tableware, and housekeeping suppliers
and services sector.
The event was successfully launched recently at the Traders Hotel in
Male, Maldives. The chief guest was Minister of Transport and
Communication Ameen Ibrahim.
A large number of resort representatives and suppliers in the
Maldives was present. The principal sponsor of the event is Lily F and B
Suppliers while Nestle is the Platinum Sponsor of the Culinary
Challenge. Trans Maldivian Airways is the official Airline while Durdans
Hospitals are the Health Care Partner. While many resorts have already
confirmed participation at the International Culinary Challenge, over 60
percent of the trade stalls have also been sold out. |
