WCY 2014 to be telecast

The inaugural ceremony of the World Conference on Youth (WCY) 2014 will be telecast via satellite. The ceremony will held at Hambantota on May 6, Mass Media and Information Ministry Secretary Charitha Herath told a press conference at the Government Information Department on Friday.

Arrangements have also been made for the foreign and local media to cover the event from the Media Centre, the Secretary said.

The agenda of the conference was drawn up on Friday. A Media Centre will be set up at BMICH, similar to the Media Centre which functioned during CHOGM, he said.
