New circular for Grade 1 admissions

Ministry of Education has decided to issue a new circular shortly on admissions of students to Grade One classes of government schools next year (2015).

A special ministerial committee headed by Minister Nimal Siripala de Silva would be appointed to forward new proposals to be considered with regard to Grade One students' admission to government schools islandwide.

"The Secretary to the Ministry of Education Anura Dissanayake said that the school admissions for Grade One classes has to be commenced by June this year".
