Farmers' pensions restored

Monthly payments for farmers pension scheme, will be restored in January and the pension wages for March has been sent to the relevant post offices in the Kalutara District, Deputy Director of Agrarian Insurance Board (Kalutara District) Nandalal Perera, said at the Kalutara District committee meeting held recently at the main auditorium of Kalutara District Secretariat.

The Kalutara District consists of 6989 farmers who are entitled to the farmers pension scheme and the government spends Rs. 12.8 million to pay their pensions, Perera said.
