Cultural show at Welikada Prison
'Pansalai-Palliyai, Sinhala Ha Damila Aluth Avurudda, a cultural show
organised by Presidential Coordinating Officer Rev. Sarath Hettiarachchi,
was held at the Welikada prison recently with the participation of its
inmates.
Among the marked features were the Avurudu Kumari beauty contest,
musical night and inmates dancing.
Training program for bhikkhus

Akuressa-Aturaliya Samagiri Viharadhipathi Sangamaya has initiated a
three month training program for bhikkhus on Bhikkhus' attitude
development and management of Dhamma schools to make every temple and
Dhamma school as Dhamma Propagation Centres.
The first training program was launched at Godapitiya Sri
Sudarsanarama Viharaya, Akuressa last Saturday.
Lantern competition from May 14-15

The Prime Apex Educational Society, Kalubowitiyana will hold a Vesak
lantern competition among its members.
The Vesak lanterns will be displayed at the Educational Society
premises on May 14 and 15.
Maestro returns with: 'Hanthanata Payana Sanda'

Renowned musician and violin maestro Amarasiri Peiris will be back
with 'Hanthanata Payana Sanda ', a classical musical event.
It will be held in Colombo on May 18 from 6.30 pm at Musaeus College
auditorium, Colombo 7.
Wasantha Rohana will compere the event. Rohana Weerasinghe will lead
the back-up orchestra.
The event is a fundraiser for a charity in Negombo.

Vijaya Corea on 'Divine healing'
Former Director General of the Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation and
popular showbiz personality, Vijaya Corea, will narrate the breathtaking
details of a medically-attested miracle from God at the Cathedral of
Christ the Living Saviour, Bauddhaloka Mawatha, Colombo 7 on Sunday May
11 at 10.30 a.m. It is open to the public.
His narration will mark the 30th anniversary of his healing from
cancer, where the oncologists in London gave him a prognosis of only
three months to live in April 1984 and whereas he received diving
healing without recourse to chemotherapy, radiotherapy or any other
medication.
