The Director of the ICC World Chambers Federation, Anthony Parkes,
who visited Sri Lanka recently, to conduct training programs on
‘Certificate of Origins’ and ‘ATA Carnets’, visited the Ceylon Chamber
of Commerce (CCC) on Monday.
Parkes had a brief meeting with the CEO and Secretary General of the
Ceylon Chamber, Mangala P. B. Yapa. Senior Assistant Secretary General
Mrs. Lilakshini de Mel and Assistant Secretary General Mrs. Gayathiri
Aravind were also present.
Yapa said that the Ceylon Chamber's primary focus is to support
regional growth by helping SMEs, facilitate trade and investment and
also promote governance and policy advocacy.
He also said the Chamber plans to further enhance its relationship
with regional Chambers by supporting them and bringing them into a
strong network, which can be used to reach the regional SME base.
Parkes briefed the Chamber officials about the latest activities of
the ICC World Chambers Federation and the ICC ninth World Chambers
Congress due to take place in 2015 in Italy.
“For the first time in the history of the Congress, Chamber leaders
will endorse a declaration on their mission and role during the
gathering,” he said. |
