Swimming Gala - 2014

The Colombo District Sri Lanka Scout Association had organised a swimming meet to mark 100 years of Colombo District Scout Association held at the Wesley College Swimming Pool recently. The Colombo District Scout Swimming Meet is an important annual event in the calendar of the district's scout activities. The meet is sanctioned by the Aquatic Sports governing body - SLAASU.

Over 300 participants form leading schools in Colombo District were take part in the meet.

In the Cup final Boys and Girls of S Thomas' College and St. Clare's College became champions and Wesley College became the Plate champion. Colombo District Scouts Commissioner Riza Azoor presented M.N. Abeynayake Challenge Trophy to Cup Champion (Boys) S Thomas' College. Cup Champion (Girls) St. Clares College and Plate Champion (Boys) Wesley College received awards. Chief Guest Dual Olympian, former Sri Lankan Swimming Captain, who held 111 National Records Conrad Francis and guest of honour Coordinating Secretary of Ministry of Sports Air Vice Marshal Elmo Perera presented certificates and gold medals to the winners.
