A new post office in Vakarai

A post office at a cost of Rs. 8.8 million was opened by Postmaster General D.L.P.R. Abeyaratne at Vakarai recently under the program of Mahinda Chinthana - vision for the future.

The opening ceremony was presided over by Deputy Postmaster General V. Vivekananthalingam. Vakarai was one of the badly affected areas during terrorism and the post office of this magnitude is a boon to those affected people.

Vakarai Divisional secretary S.R. Ragulanayagi, Controller Operation Postal Department K. Kanagasundram and ASP, Valaichchenai Police H.O.S. Vithanage graced the occasion.
