Schoolboy Ranasinghe and Schoolgirl Warusawitharne win TT Nationals

History was probably created when two school attending players won the Senior National Table Tennis Championship for men and women at the 68th senior table tennis nationals organised by the Table Tennis Association of the Sri Lanka and worked off in Colombo. Fifteen-year-old Udaya Ranasinghe of Vidyartha College, Kandy, became the national mens champion by defeating Sri Lanka's table tennis captain from Stag TT Academy.

Nineteen year-old Erandi Warusawitharne of Dharmasoka College, Ambalangoda, became the womens national champion by defeating Sri Lanka's women teams captain Ishara Madurangi who was also the defending champion.
