12 Ministers assume duties

Twelve Ministers including Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe, four
state Ministers and four Deputy Ministers assumed duties last Friday.
Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe assumed duties at Temple Trees
after religious ceremonies.
Health Minister Dr. Rajitha Senaratne assumed duty at the Health
Ministry and President Maithripala Sirisena and a large number of
invitees were present.
Lakshman Kiriella (MP) assumed duties as Plantation Industries
Minister at his Ministry.
Minister Kiriella said that a democratic administration will be in
place after the establishment of all commissions within one hundred
days.
Patali Champika Ranawaka (MP) after assuming duty as Power and Energy
Minister assured to provide the much needed relief to the people
withdrawing the unlimited tax so far levied on electricity and fuel.
At the same time he emphasised that no room will be left for wastage
and fraud in the future.
Arjuna Ranartunga (MP) assumed duties as Ports and Shipping.
Western Province Chief Minister Prasanna Ranatunga was also present.
