Govt won’t withdraw Army Formations in N-E
State Defence Minister Ruwan Wijewardene on his
first official visit to the North and the East said that the
Government would not withdraw any Army Formations in the peninsula
or plans to scale down security arrangements, the official website
of the Sri Lanka Army said.

Fake phones, a threat to national security – TRC
Fake mobile phone brands imported from China
have posed a threat to national security as they cannot be
registered under the Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (TRC)
due to a technical glitch, the sources said. Any crime committed
using a mobile phone could be traced through the IMEI (International
Mobile Station Equipment Identity) number of the device.
