Dilhara and Oshadha give Moors the upper hand over SSC

Former Sri Lanka one-day player Dilhara Lokuhettige scored a fighting century and ably assisted by former Sebastianite Oshada Fernando (74) helped Moors to gain a valuable first innings lead of 75 runs over SSC on the second day of their match at SSC grounds yesterday.

His sparkling knock consisted of 12 fours and six sixes and came in only 87 balls while Oshada's innings comprise of eight boundaries and came in 122 deliveries.

SSC: 224 all out in 78.3 overs (Wishva Wijeratne 40, Tharanga Paranavithana 38, Thilina Kandamy 31, Kavindu Kulasekara 29, Vimukthi Perera 3-35, Kosala Kulasekara 3-36)

Ports Authority take the lead

Former Richmond College skipper Dhananjaya de Silva scored a fine century and ably assisted by Sri Lanka player Ashan Priyanjan (92) in a second wicket stand of 163, helped Ports Authority to lead Saracens by 94 runs of the first innings in their match played at CCC grounds yesterday.

Left arm spinner Malinda Pushpakumara took five wickets for 57 runs. Saracens: 210 all out in 80 overs (Chanaka Ruwansiri 50 n.o, Ishan Nilaksha 32, Malinda Pushpakumara 5-57, Sachithra Serasinghe 2-24)

Ports Authority: 304-6 in 88.1 overs (Dhananjaya de Silva 109, Ashan Priyanjan 92, Sachithra Serasinghe 43, Upul Indrasiri 3-67)

NCC lead by 133 runs

Two fine spells of bowling by Tharindu Kaushal (5 for 78) and Dushmantha Chameera (4 for 55) helped NCC to gain a fine first innings lead of 133 runs against Bloomfield at NCC grounds yesterday.

Bloomfield batting second were dismissed for 209 despite two half centuries by Primosh Perera (51) and Madhawa Warnapura (55).

NCC: 309 all out in 87.4 overs (Jehan Mubarak 76, Sohan Boralessa 52, Lahiru Udara 51, Nuwan Pradeep 5-103, Vishwa Fernando 2-42, Suraj Randiv 2-64) and 33-3 in 6 overs (Jehan Mubarak 19 n.o, Chaminda Vidanapathirana 5 n.o, Vishwa Fernando 2-16)

Army in sound position

Army were in a sound position by scoring 222 for 7 in their second innings which gave them an overall lead of 236 runs in their match against Chilaw Marians at R Premadasa Stadium yesterday.

Manjula de Zoysa (83 not out) and Sri Lanka player Seekkuge Prasanna (66) helped the Soldiers to end the day in a strong position. Prasanna hammered three sixes and five fours in 47 balls.

Army: 136 all out in 42.2 overs (Sanjika Ridma 41, Dilan Soysa 40, Chalana de Silva 3-12, Lahiru Gamage 3-23, Nimesh Perera 2-43) and 222-7 in 65 overs (Manjula de Zoysa 83 n.o, Seekkuge Prasanna 66, Lahiru Gamage 4-59)

Badureliya in command

Badureliya were in a commanding position in their match played at Surrey Village, Maggona yesterday.

The Airmen were shot out for 188 runs due to superb bowling by Imesh Udayanga (3-18) and Gayan Sirisoma (3-48) which gave them a big first innings lead of 117 runs.

Badureliya: 305 all out in 97.1 overs (Milinda Siriwardene 66, Supeshala Jayathilake 61, Suresh Niroshan 49, Gayan Sirisoma 38, Akila Isanka 2-34, Shohan Rangika 2-44, Lasanda Rukmal 2-53) and 63-1 in 14 overs (Imesh Udayanga 35 n.o, Milinda Siriwardene 18 n.o)

Manoj, Malinga excel in drawn game

Tamil Union opener Manoj Sarathchandra (72 and 133) and Ragama CC leg spinner Malinga Bandara (3-60 and 6-70) were the highlight of the drawn match in their match which ended at P Sara Oval yesterday.
