125th birth anniversary of Dr. T.B. Jayah

The 125th birth anniversary of educationist, statesman, diplomat and national hero, Al Haj Dr. T.B. Jayah will be commemorated by the Conference of Sri Lankan Malays (COSLAM) with a public meeting on Sunday, March 29 at the New Town Hall, Ananda Coomaraswamy Mawatha (Green Path), Colombo 7 commencing at 9.30 a.m.

Indonesian High Commissioner in Sri Lanka Harimawan Suyitno will be the chief guest. Head of the Department of English, Kelaniya University Dr. Ramola Rassool will deliver the Dr. T.B. Jayah Oration.

The event is held in conjunction with Hari Bahasa Melayu Hijri 1436 (Malay Language Day), a day dedicated to the preservation and development of the Malay Language in Sri Lanka.

It is open to the public.
