Malinda takes 10-wicket haul in Ports Authority's eight-wicket win

Sri Lanka Ports Authority Cricket Club beat Tamil Union by eight wicket as Malinda Pushpakumara took eight wickets for 97 runs setting an 97-run target for his side in a Super Eight match which ended at Colts grounds yesterday.

Pushpkarumara, who has taken 64 wickets in nine matches, bagged another 10-wicket haul in the match adding his two scalps in the first innings.

Tamil Union C & AC: 1st 198 all out in 68.5 overs (Dinuk Wickramanayake 35, Madushan Ravichandrakumar 34, Hashen Ramanayake 33, Shanuka Dissanayake 4-29, Malinda Pushpakumara 2-63). 2nd innings 268 all out in 70.4 overs (Rumesh Buddhika 86 n.o, Manoj Sarathchandra 41, Pabasara Waduge 39, Malinda Pushpakumara 8-97).

Sri Lanka Ports Authority CC: 1st innins 370 all out in 92.1 overs (Ashan Priyanjan 122, Sachithra Serasinghe 77, Shanuka Dissanayake 44, Mahela Udawatte 34, Gayan Maneeshan 30, Devin Pathmanathan 3-69, Nisala Tharaka 3-72, Madushan Ravithandrakumar 2-110). 2nd innings 101-4 in 20 overs (Sachthra Serasinghe 30 n.o, Madushan Ravichandrakumar 3-55).


Army lead by massive 453 runs

Sri Lanka Army Sports Club are leading by massive 453 runs with three wickets remaining against Baduraliya Sports Club at close of the third day's play of their Premier League Super Eight match played at NCC grounds yesterday.

Sri Lanka Army SC: 1st innings 415 all out in 117.1 overs (Asela Gunaratne 122, Shalika Karunanayake 85, Lakshitha Madushan 46, Dilan Soysa 45, Manjula de Zoysa 39, Mohomed Dilshad 4-93, Imesh Udayanga 2-44, Gayan Sirisoma 2-67). 2nd innings 277-7 in 83 overs (Lakshitha Madushan 86, Asela Gunaratne 53, Manjula de Zoysa 38, Mohomed Dilshad 4-54, Gayan Sirisoma 2-50).

Badureliya SC: 1st innings 239 all out in 66.4 overs (Milinda Siriwardene 66, Andy Solomons 57, Charitha Buddhika 38, Lassana Perera 33, Nuwan Liyanapathirana 5-94, Roshan Jayatissa 3-79).


Bloomfield record a stunning eight-wicket win

Bloomfield Cricket and Athletics Club recorded a stunning eight wicket win over Colombo Cricket Club on the third day of a Premier League Super Eight match, which ended at P Sara Oval yesterday.

CCC, who were 36-1 overnight, were bowled out for 85 runs, setting an 83-run target for Bloomfield.

Left arm spinner Chathura Randunu and fast bowler Nuwan Pradeep bowled stunning spells for Bloomfield sharing seven wickets among them. Vishwa Fernando had two wickets.

Bloomfield lost two quick wickets for nine runs during their run chase before Kusal Mendis (46 not out) and Madhawa Warnapura (31 not out) guiding the side to romp home with an unfinished 74 runs partnership for the third wicket.

CCC: 1st innings 235 all out in 74.5 overs (Hasantha Fernando 48, Chamara Silva 38, Geshan Wimaladharma 37, Prasanna Jayawardene 36, Vishwa Fernando 3-64, Suraj Randiv 3-44, Chathura Randunu 2-51, Nuwan pradeep 2-56). 2nd innings 85 all out in 38.1 overs (Chathura Randunu 4-26, Nuwan Pradeep 3-14, Vishwa Fernando 2-22).

Bloomfield C & AC: 238 all out in 83.5 overs (Ashen Silva 62, Suraj Randiv 31 n.o, Dulanjana Mendis 5-73, Lakshan Sandaken 5-75). 2nd innings 83-2 in 19 overs (Kusal Mendis 46 n.o, Madhwa Warnapura 31 n.o)


Moors have the upper hand against NCC

Moors Sports Club is leading by 389 runs with two wickets remaining against Nondescript Cricket Club on the third day in a Super Eight match played at R Premadasa Stadium yesterday.

Moors SC: 1st innings 296 all out in 91 overs (Chathuranga de Silva 107, Kosala Kulasekara 53, Chaminda Vidanapathirana 5-65, Sohan Boralessa 2-68). 2nd innings 288-8 in 108 overs (Oshadha Fernando 119, Harsha Cooray 55, Tillakaratne Sampath 34, Chathuranga de Silva 32, Chaminda Vidanapathirana 3-40, Sandun Weerakkody 2-11).
