The Finance marks 75th anniversary

The Finance officials distribute books to schoolchildren.

The Finance Company, a non-banking institute, the first of such
financial institutes in Sri Lanka, celebrated its 75th anniversary
recently. It was set up in 1940.
The management of the company launched special programs to mark the
anniversary. Among the programs, pride of place was given to religion.
An all-might pirith pinkama followed by a Sanghika dana was held at the
company's Bambalapitiya headquarters.
The Christian and Hindu religious programs were conducted at St.
Mary's Church, Bambalapitiya and Nallur Temple, Jaffna.
The first branch was opened in Jaffna town in 1976. Books were also
donated to two school libraries in Jaffna. Gifts were presented to
customers at a commemorative ceremony at the Jaffna branch.
Managing Director, Aruna Prasad Lekamge, Executive Director Tissa
Ekanayake, Ramesh Abeywickerma, Bharatha Vithana Pathirana and Anuruddha
Rajakaruna and several employees were also present.
Provincial programs were also conducted in Jaffna. |
