Former Selacine Chairman, four others grilled over financial fraud
Court impounds passports:
Passports of former Selacine Chairman, Pradeep Udayakumara
Edirisinghe and four others were impounded following a court order
issued by the Colombo Assistant Magistrate, Nirosha Fernando, based on
allegations of financial fraud being committed by them.
Instructions have been issued to the Immigration Controller and
Officer- In- Charge of the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA).
Others allegedly involved in the fraud are, Maneesha Subhani Jayalath,
(accounts supervisor) Prasad Madubhashana Ranhotige, (Chairman, Selacine
Welfare Association) and Joseph De Lazalle (accountant).
All four were charged following an inquiry conducted by the Financial
Crimes Investigation Division (FCID), based on complaints made by the
present chairman. |
