TISL to monitor misuse of public resources

Transparency International Sri Lanka (TISL) will commence a Program to monitor misuse of ublic resources during the forthcoming general election 2015.

A media release from TISL stated, "The objective of the program is to prevent misuse of public resources such as government vehicles including SLTB buses, public buildings, state funds and even public officials during the election phase which is a challenge to the integrity of the electoral process."The release said it will pay special attention regarding the conduct of public officials in election campaigning and take necessary legal action when required. A team of observers will be deployed covering all electoral districts.
