Arrest of top politicians, Govt. officials imminent
The Financial Crime Investigations Division (FCID)
is tipped to arrest several politicians and top government officials
in the next few days, for alleged financial frauds, top government
sources told the Sunday Observer.

Six arrested in Kattankudy violence
After a relatively calm and quiet post-election
period, Police on Saturday arrested six people in Kattankudy on
election-related violence that broke out on Friday(21) night when
supporters of the UPFA national list MP, A.H.M. Hisbulla, attacked
supporters of the Sri Lanka Muslim Congress (SLMC), police said.
