Sri Lanka contest world U-16 chess

A five member Sri Lankan team left the country to take part in the World Youth Under-16 Chess Olympiad conducted by the Mongolian Chess Federation (MCF) under the auspices of the Federation Internationale Des Echecs (FIDE) in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. The players are (back row from left) Gayantha Sandeep Dasanayaka (St. Sylvester's College, Kandy) G.M.S.Tillekaratne (Maliyadeva College, Kurunegala), Dasuni Hansika Mendis (VisakhaVidyalaya, Colombo), Minul Sanjula Doluweera (Royal College) and Mojitha Gunaratne (Ananda College). They were accompanied by (seated from left) Buddhi Panagoda (Secretary Chess Federation of SriLanka), Luxman Wijesuriya (General Secretary of the Commonwealth ChessAssociation) and S.
