Policeman injured in brawl

One policeman of the Galle police station was injured and admitted to the Galle hospital after he was assaulted with a club in the wee hours of yesterday when he went with a team of policemen to settle a dispute, police said yesterday.

The incident occurred when they visited Dadalla to settle a dispute between two groups following a complaint that two groups were clashing.

Police later arrested the person who had assaulted the policeman. He was remanded till March 24.
