PRCCR meets Sampanthan

The Public Representation Committee on Constitutional Reforms (PRCCR) held a meeting with the leader of the Tamil National Alliance and Opposition leader R. Sampanthan recently.

The meeting in Parliament was one in a series of discussions the PRCCR will hold with political and social dignitaries, political parties and independent commissions (except the Judicial Services Commission) this month, said Chairman, PRCCR Attorney-at-Law Lal Wijenayake.

The discussions with Sampanthan had been optimistic, said lawyer Wijenayake.

"The Opposition Leader pointed out five factors that need to be included in the constitutional reforms if all the other parties agree," he said.
