Youth speak for entrepreneurship and employability

Youth Speak Forum 2016, a premier AIESEC event, which brings top young leaders together with thought leaders, business leaders and experts to form a diverse cross-section and multi-generational space for inspiring conversations around pressing global issues, will be held on March 19 at the Sri Lanka Foundation under the theme 'Entrepreneurship and Employability'.

President of AIESEC International - Ana Saldariaga, and the United Nations Secretary- General’s Envoy on Youth- Ahmad Alhendawi partnering to commit for the SDGs.

The event is expected to see over 300 undergraduates, students and leaders converge at one platform with the aim of generating new and actionable ideas that will impact Sri Lanka and beyond. The Youth Speak movement is a result of a partnership between AIESEC International and the UN to commit in the implementation of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Through a survey conducted by AIESEC regarding the SDGs it has been determined that one of the main concerns of Sri Lankan youth is the 4th SDG - Quality education. Hence the Youth Speak Forum is focused on "discussing the ways in which we can improve the employability of Sri Lankan undergraduates through quality education, the importance of Entrepreneurship education and integrating Entrepreneurship to local education" said Samith Yasas Siriwardana, President of AIESEC in Sri Lanka.

Youth Speak Forum will include keynotes by guest speakers, sessions conducted under the theme and workshops to convert the ideas that evolve from young minds to actions. Then the selected excellent ideas of the youth present at the Youth Speak Forum would be pitched at the presence of the decision makers of the country as well as the corporate sector. At the end there will be a panel discussion with the invited guests where the delegates of Youth Speak Forum get the chance to clarify their thoughts.

AIESEC is a global platform for young people to explore and develop their leadership potential. They are a non-political, independent, not-for-profit organisation with the vision of 'Peace and the fulfillment of humankind's potential' run by students and recent graduates of institutions of higher education

All Sri Lankan youth who wants to make an impact to the country are invited to participate in Youth Speak Forum 2016. Application can be found at https://goo.gl/i3GZ7I.
