Jaffna cricket official manages Youth team to Malaysia

Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has picked a Jaffna cricket official to accompany a national representative team on an overseas tour opening a new chapter in the country's sporting arena.

President of Jaffna District Cricket, Dharmakulasingham accompanied what is being called the Minor Districts Combined Youth team that left on Friday on a tour of Malaysia.

The players will feature in three 50-over matches and two T20 matches on the tour.

In a statement SLC said the players making up the tour party are "bright and upcoming talent". Naveed Nawaz will assist Dharmakulasingham while Nishantha Hennanayake functions as coach and Sidath Liyanarachchi his deputy. The Minor Districts Combined team: GR Tudor, Sachith Indraratne, Ramesh Nimantha, Pandula Udupihila (captain), Udith Maduwantha, Dilshan Sandaruwan, DVG Chanuka, Nipun Chathuranga, Sandeepa Nisansala, KA Gajith Kotuwegoda, Nivantha Kaveshvara, J.Sanjeev, IMRP Ilangasinghe, S. Attanayake, Selvakadhir Gobinath, Avishka Fernando and Sanoj Seneviratne.
