Arijit Singh to perform Live
Arijit Singh will perform Live for the FIRST time in Sri Lanka backed up by a
Symphony Orchestra with 45 musicians on stage. Arijit Singh is known for his hit
songs Tum Hi Ho from the film Aashiqui 2 , Kabira from Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani
and "Gerua" from Dilwale. The concert is scheduled to be held at the Havelock
Sports Club Grounds from 7:30 pm.
Comedy Sundays
Tranquils Comedy Sunday is back after the long vacation. This Sunday it will be
held at the Liberty Plaza Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf from 5pm to 7pm. Tickets are
priced at Rs.500 and will be available at the entrance.
Chapters Book Club
The newly formed Chapters Book Club will meet throughout the year to discuss 6
interesting books which showcase survival, fulfillment and the importance of
positively facing life’s challenges. Each book shows characters who develop
confidence, strength and self-awareness and come to vital realizations about
their lives. A variety of genres and styles will be covered. This Sunday when
the Book Club meets at 4 pm, they will be discussing work of the famous Bard
‘Shakespeare For Grown-ups: Everything You Need To Know About The Bard’ (Coats &
Foley) with Dr Devika Brendon. The Chapters bookstore is located on 40/A Joseph
Lane, Colombo 04.

Wendt on May 7 and 8 from 10 am. If you feel that it is art that makes life,

Mother’s Day at Little Amigos

Spring in Italy – Trekurious
Trekurious which offers curated travel experiences is hosting a hearty Italian
home-made Mother’s Day brunch at the Havelock Place Bunglow from 11am to 2pm
today May 10. Trekurious has carefully selected a classic Italian menu, with
ingredients sourced from Italy, by Italian home-cook Valentina Gonsal.
EVEREST 2015
In support of Jayanthi Kuru-Utumpala and Johann Peries' historic attempt to
summit Mount Everest, the organisers will be screening the hit movie, ‘Everest’,
for all supporters and well wishers of the duo.
‘Everest’, a 2015 movie starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Josh Brolin, was based on
the events that took place during the infamous 1996 climbing season. The movie
realistically portrays some of the confitions Jay and Johann will experience
when they begin their final push to the top around 18 May 2016. The movie will
be screened at the National Film Corporation on May 13 from 6:30 pm.
The A&K Literary Festival
The Annasi & Kadalagotu Literary Festival or ‘A&K LitFest’, is a Sri Lankan
literary festival which brings together literary enthusiasts. The objective is
to create an interest in contemporary local literature of hitherto known and
unknown writers and creative artistes, as well as fuel the passion of latent
literary hopefuls everywhere. This year the A&K LitFest will be held on May 14
and 15 at the Western Province Aesthetic Centre from 10 am. A number of books
are to be launched we hear.

Open Stunt show competitions, Open modify bike show, road safety demonstration,
young school inventors, Vintage Bike stalls, Test riding shows, slowest rider
competition, Young rider’s competition are just some of the events lined up at
