SL to host regional civil aviation confab

The 53rd Conference of the Directors General of Civil Aviation of the Asia and
Pacific Region will be held at the Colombo Hilton, from August 1 to 5.
The conference will have three components - the Regional Aviation Safety Group
Meeting (RASG) and Regional Aviation Security Coordination Forum (RASCF) which
will be held parallel on the first two days and the main DGCA conference will
take place on the last three days, Director General of Civil Aviation/CEO, Civil
Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka, H.M.C. Nimalsiri said.
Civil Aviation is an essential global infrastructure to every country which
facilitates international travel, trade and tourism within countries and across
the borders.
The International Civil Aviation Organization was set up as a United Nations
specialized agency to manage the administration and governance of the Convention
and primarily to develop and implement International Standards and Recommended
Practices (SARPs) in aviation safety and security for efficient conduct and
regularity of aviation business and maintaining an economically sustainable and
environmentally responsible civil aviation sector. |
