Poems The National Flag
The National Flag of Sri Lanka is the lion flag.
It has a long history.
There is a lion carrying the sword.
The lion signifies heroism and strength.
It refers to the history of our nation.
The lion is yellow in colour in a crimson background.
The sword which the lion holds in its right front paw stands for
justice.

Mydog
I have a dog,
His name is Bog,
He plays with a ball,
And kicks to the goal.
He has a wish,
To eat every fish,
He likes to drink milk,
And his skin is silk.

Earth Day
Earth day, Earth day,
Comes once a year.
But we should make our message clear,
Love and clean our Earth
each day.
Make that plan a plan to stay.
Earth day, Earth day,
Comes once a year.
Love and care for our
Earth so dear.
Night
Birds go sleeping in nests,
With their tinies,
Bats glide here and there,
While the owls hoot.
People go out walking,
And hears the people
scoundrels,
Outside the window warm and peace stillness,
And the dancing of shadows,
Softly screeches the insects.
The moon is like a silvery
galleon,
And silver the things in
nature,
Stars twinkle in the sky,
While clouds jiggle,
When the dark goes away,
Nearer comes the dawn.

The toy
I bought a toy,
From the shop,
It seemed so nice,
For it was a lovely doll.
Thinking of its beauty,
I forgot to do my work,
When mother called me to have dinner,
It was almost 7 o'clock.
