‘Sustainable Future’ theme of social science confab

A large number of local and international scholars on humanities and social sciences will come together at the second International Conference on the Humanities and Social Science (ICHSS). ‘Unleashing Minds to Create a Sustainable Future’ is the main theme of the Conference.

“The theme was selected by taking into consideration the expected roles and responsibilities of the contemporary intellectuals,’ a spokesman said.The ICHSS is organized by the Faculty of Arts, University of Peradeniya and will be held on July 27 and 28 at the Arts Faculty premises.

“Based on the importance and success of the first ICHSS held in 2011, the Faculty decided to continue it as an annual event.

This will provide a platform for local and international scholars on humanities and social sciences to come together.
