The Hiru Golden Film Award is a Sri Lankan awards ceremony honoring
cinematic achievements in the film industry where winners are awarded
the statuette. The Chairman, Asia Broadcasting Corporation (ABC),
Rayynor Silva said, he has a great vision, i.e. to give a boost to
languish the film Industry in Sri Lanka and it is the reason why Hiru TV
started the Hiru Golden Film Awards in 2014.
The Hiru Golden Film Awards 2016, will be held at the Nelum Pokuna
Theatre, Colombo, on September 11 from 5.00pm onwards.
The announcement was made at a media briefing held in Colombo,
attended by Directors of the ABC Network. The updated webiste
www.hirugoldenfilmawards.lk was also launched at the media briefing. The
awards ceremony will felicitate 40 awards after judging 45 films and
short films of 150 filmmakers, screened in the last two years.
The event will see the awarding of artistic, popular and special
awards. Awards for the most popular cinematic creations will be selected
through a process of public voting, conducted via sms, phone calls and
online.
A host of Bollywood stars including actors and singers are set to
dazzle the star studded event. Anil Kapoor, Sunil Shetty, Vivek Oberoi,
Bipasha Basu, Alka Yagnik, Neha Dhupia, Madhuri Dixit, SriDevi, Raveena
Tandon, Jackie Shroff, Karisma Kapoor and Neil Nitin Mukesh are expected
to come down for the event. |
