Hope, wish, fantasy….

Call it what you may, everyone dreams of being someone or doing something different when they grow up. Some dream of being astronauts, rocket scientists, space explorers… Some dream of being clowns, comedians and running away to a circus. Still others wish to be lawyers, doctors, cricketers or superstars.

The sky, as they say, is the limit to your dreams… But what’s the

I want to be a doctor

I am Maleesha Gangali Zoysa. I study at Grade Seven at St. Annes Girls’ School. I want to help all the elderly people when they become sick. I do not like to see people suffer in pain. I will study hard to achieve my dream. My parents help me a lot in my studies and they have the trust that I will become a doctor one day.

I yearn to become a veterinary surgeon

I am Nirshana. I study at B/Uva Science College in Grade Six. I yearn to become a veterinary surgeon when I grow up. I love animals and I feel they can speak with me. I spend most of the time observing them and talking to them. I found out that becoming a veterinary surgeon is the best way to get closer to all animals. I am working really hard to achieve my goal. I hope my wish comes true.

My ambition is to become a doctor

I am Anugi Karunaratne. I study in Grade Two at St. Lawrence's Convent. A doctor is loved by everybody because they help sick people. I will study hard and be a doctor one day. I hope my dream will come true.

I want to become an author

I am Morintha Dissanayake. I study at Sussex College, Kiribathgoda and I am in Grade Eight. I yearn to become an author like J.K. Rowling who wrote the Harry Potter series. My affinity is towards writing fantasy stories. I hope to be a great author some day and hope people will love reading my books.
