Wimal admits to mass grave in North but rebuffed by Malwatte Mahanayake

President Maithripala Sirisena hosted a dinner for some leading civil society activists and trade union leaders, at the President’s House, on Wednesday night. Leaders of the National Movement for a Just Society, Puravesi Balaya and some prominent trade unions attended the event.

Oh-me-Gosh! What a fortnight! A court verdict even this ordinary cat had been waiting for, finally delivered. And, the two major political parties celebrating their birth anniversaries: the greens exactly the Biblical age and the blues, five years less. GMOA’s privileges antics

The Government Medical Officers’ Association (GMOA) locked horns with the government again, when a group of doctors occupied the Education Ministry premises demanding a meeting with the minister. The doctors, who received recent transfers, said their children had not been given a chance to get admission to a ‘good school’.
