Chiranthi, Sachinda to deputize for Sri Lankan youth at 71st UNGA
The Foreign Youth Relations Division of the National Youth Services
Council (NYSC), under the guidance of its Chairman, Eranda Weliange, has
nominated Ms. Chiranthi Senanayake and Sachinda Dulanjana to represent
the Sri Lankan youth at the 71st UN General Assembly session to be held
in New York this year.
Chiranthi Senanayake is a product of Ladies' College, Colombo where
she was the Head Girl in 2013, President, UN Club, Heritage Club,
Sinhala Literary Society and the Buddhist Society.
She was also a senior debater in both Sinhala and English, a thespian
and a sportswoman.
She had worked as an intern at the Verite Research, a trainee
journalist at Sunday Times and a Program Officer at the Sri Lanka Anti-
Narcotics Association.
She is currently following her LLB at the University of London via
Horizon Campus and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree of the University of
Colombo and an Attorney-at-Law of the Sri Lanka Law College.
Sachinda Dulanjana is a past pupil of Ananda College where he held
the post of Deputy Head Prefect in 2010/2011, led the Sri Lankan Schools
Karate team in 2008 and was awarded the President's Scout Award in 2008.
He was awarded the Most Outstanding Young Person in the category of
"Humanitarian and Voluntary Service" at the Ten Outstanding Young
Persons (TOYP) in Sri Lanka for his social work as the Director and
Founder of the H3 (Heart, Hand and Humanity) Foundation.
