NMG Consulting sponsors seminar on 'Risk Based Capital'

The Association of Chartered Insurance Professionals (ACIP) and the Sri Lanka Insurance Institute held a seminar on 'Risk Based Capital' at the Galadari Hotel recently. The event was sponsored by NMG Consulting who are the consultant actuaries for Life and Non-Life business in Sri Lanka.

The financial consequences of RBC was presented by Vipula Dharmapala; former Head of Finance of HNB Assurance and currently the Director of Smiles Global, the impact of RBC on non-life business was presented by Roshan Perera; Partner Actuarial Consulting of NMG Consulting and the impact of RBC on life business was presented by Pushpakumar Gunasekara; Consultant Actuary and Director of Smiles Global.

The sessions concluded with a question and answer session moderated by ACIP President,Deputy Chairman of Senaratne Insurance Brokers and Insurance Consultant Ainsley Alles.

The program was the maiden seminar organised by the newly formed association for the chartered qualified insurance professionals in Sri Lanka. ACIP President Ainsley Alles said "We are happy with the response and the accolades received from the participants on a current and complex topic which came into being from January 2016 after a successful parallel run by the Regulator; Insurance Board of Sri Lanka for the past two years".

"ACIP was formed recently to enhance professionalism and ethics in the field of insurance and provide its members a forum to present their views and lobby with relevant stakeholders for the betterment of the insurance industry" Alles said.
