Walk to end Alzheimer's

Saturday, 24th September, 2016 is your date with the Foundation, so come clad in red and white to walk the 5 kilometre trek mapped out for you. Elders can hop the luxury air-conditioned bus courtesy Walkers Tours Limited, while others can enjoy some up-beat music as they beat the heat or dance in the rain whichever works out on the day!

On location, support the Foundation by purchasing a quality branded t-shirt, cap or umbrella, cards or a raffle ticket. The Annual Memory Walk sees the conclusion of a six week campaign where awareness desks and selling of tickets at the various supermarkets and malls enable the Foundation to raise funds to sustain the work of the Foundation.

The unsurpassed hospitality of Cinnamon Grand, Elephant House, Nestle, and Pet Packaging continues with their support since 14 years, while Medi Calls Ambulance provides the safety for those participating. Walkers provides transport for the elders, Balloon Team provides a helium-filled balloon for all, while the mobile Dj certainly rocks the walk from start to finish! The Lanka Alzheimer's Foundation expresses its gratitude to those who make this annual walk a reality.

The Colpetty Police who escorts the participants, photographs by Wasantha Jayasekera and the donors of all the prizes for this raffle draw have all stood by the Foundation over the years extending their share of goodwill to the community. Last but not least is the grand prize this year from our national airline - SriLankan Airlines together with Sri Lankan Cares who will make their presence felt amongst the city hoteliers and the public who in numbers have graced this occasion over the years, walking for a worthy cause.

8 am is assembling time at Cinnamon Grand's Angsana Spa Garden, where light refreshments and a steaming cup of coffee or tea will boost up your energy prior to the Walk. The end of the Walk will witness the Raffle Draw and more refreshments making it an enjoyable morning for all. So do remember the date, and call 2667082 or 84 for more details and registration.
