Priyantha Ekanayake to take over as CEO SLRFU

Priyantha Ekanayake will take office as the new CEO of Sri Lanka Rugby
Football Union (SLRFU) with effect from December 1, 2016.
SLRFU secretary Nazeem Mohamad confirming the appointment told the
Sunday Observer that the SLRFU headed by its president Asanga
Seneviratne wants to take Sri Lanka rugby to the next level where he
wants to bring the right people in the right post to take this mission
forward.
"Seneviratne has a vision to meet strategic initiations to achieve
high level goals such as to make Sri Lanka the number two in Asian
rugby, to win a medal in the Asian Games, qualify for the next Olympic
Games and to qualify for the World Seven's rugby series tournament,"
said Mohamad. "We think to help achieve these targets we need to bring
in vastly experienced players like Ekanayake who has lots of contacts
with New Zealand and world rugby." |
