Pavith bowls Thomians to victory

S Thomas' College, Mount Lavinia began their school cricket season with an innings win over Dharmapala College in Pannipitiya .

Left-arm spinner, Pavith Rathnayake with match bag of a 10 wickets was the architect of the Thomian. win.

Dharmapala continuing from 40 for 3 overnight was bundled out for 111. Right-arm medium pacer Dinura Gunawardena and Pavith Rathnayake captured 3 wickets apiece. The Thomians enforced the follow-on and went home for tea as Dharmapala once again faltered and were bundled out for just 104 before tea break. Rathnayake took 7 wickets for 47 and Dellon Peiris picked up 2 wickets. Hashantha Vishvajith top scored for Dharmapala with 30 runs.

Thomians amassed 339 for 7 declared on the first day as Ishen Perera and Manthila Wijerathne slammed excellent centuries.
