Marketers conference focuses on digital era branding
'Branding in the Digital Era' was the theme of the fifth CIM Future
Marketers Conference 2016 at the Hilton Colombo Residence recently.
Nearly 300 future marketers got the opportunity to enhance their
knowledge on branding in the digital era through five industry experts.
Managing Director Brand Finance Lanka, Ruchi Gunawardena inspired the
young marketers on the topic 'Building great Brands in the Digital Era'.
He also shared his experience on brand building and the turning point
of building brands by tossing out old school thinking and adopting new
tactics in building enduring brands in the digital space.
CEO, Brandix Apparel Solutions Ltd., Asanga Ranasinghe took the theme
of the conference to a another level sharing his views and insights on
delivering the brand promise through brilliant marketing in the dynamic
digital space and explaining the benefit of connecting with customers by
delivering the brand promise.
Head of Brand Marketing Cinnamon Hotels and Resorts and Vice
President John Keels Group, Dileep Mudadeniya outlined the evolution of
Cinnamon Hotels and how the entire Cinnamon colony was formed.
Director/Chief Executive Officer at Hayleys Consumer Products Ltd,
Bimal Silva explained how the growth of the digital space led to an
unprecedented transformation in consumer engagement with brands.
Director - Digital Strategy Leo Burnett, Marsh Dodanwela brought in a
novel twist to the conference by drawing the attention of the audience
with motivational and inspirational talks and gearing up the conference
with some entertainment.
This year's conference was held under the supervision and the
guidance of Advisor to the Student Committee, G. S. Sylverster; Head of
Education, Sumudu Thanthirigoda; and Chairman Sanjika Perera.
