Printing Institute obtains ISO certification

The Sri Lanka Institute of Printing (SLIOP), the pioneer professional
body committed to the advancement of knowledge, skills and expertise in
the print and digital arts industry in Sri Lanka obtained the SLS ISO:
9002:2008 Certification from the Sri Lanka Standard Institute (SLSI) for
its standards in design, development and conduct of printing, graphics
and multi media programs.
Director General, SLSI, Dr. Lalith Senaweera emphasized the
importance of quality and continuous improvements in technology at SLIOP,
which helped the Institute to obtain the ISO standards today.
State Minister of Skills Development and Vocational Training, Palitha
Range Bandara said with the ISO standard, SLIOP has achieved a landmark
in the printing and digital arts education in Sri Lanka due to the
untiring efforts of its management and the staff. He said that the SLIOP
being a self-funded institute, their achievement are great and is a good
example to other Government Organisations.
He said that obtaining ISO standards has not only enhanced the status
of the Institute but also the acceptance and the recognition of its
Certificates locally and internationally.
The Institute recently initiated NVQ level-4 program for those in the
graphic arts industry. |
