MAS Unichela emerged league champion of the 24th Singer MCA Premier
League Cricket tournament when they beat Dimo by four wickets at the P
Sara Oval yesterday.
It was MAS Unichela’s sixth win from 7 matches and they had a total
of 28 points. Their wins were over Dimo, MAS Active, John Keels, Sampath
Bank, Commercial Credit and Textured Jersey and the one loss was to HNB.
John Keels (24 points), Commercial Credit (24 points), Sampath Bank
(17 points), Dimo (14 points), Textured Jersey (10 points), HNB (9
points) and MAS Active (no points) finished the points table in that
order. The knock-out stage will start from October 8. Defending champion
MAS Active ended the league no wins and no points.
In the other matches concluded yesterday HNB beat MAS Active, John
Keels beat Sampath Bank and Commercial Credit beat Textured Jersey.
