Otters, Track Masters win Men's, Women's 'A' Division

Otters and defending champions Track Masters BC emerged the men's and women's 'A' Division champions respectively at the Colombo Super League Championships of the Colombo District Basketball Association (CDBA) at the Police Field Force Courts, Bambalapitiya.

Otters won the Men's 'A' Division title with a very slender 69-68 win over Colombo BC after leading 33-28 at half time. Shanaka Perera who was adjudged the best player in this division scored 16 points for Otters, while Gayan Meedeniya (14) and Chamath Serasinghe (12) too helped to swell the total.

For Colombo BC, Roshan Randima (17), Rasika Prabath (17) and Chamath Danawansa (13) did most of the scoring. Track Masters won the Women's 'A' Division title defeating Hatton National Bank (HNB) 85-62 after leading 39-31 at the breather. Dhanushka Wijesinghe (27), Inoka Sandamali (22) and Suleka Dissanayake (10) were the top scorers for Track Masters, while Upeksha Gurusinghe (13), Kumarine Silva (12) and Rupika Wickremasinghe (10) did most of the scoring for HNB. Dhanushka Wijesinghe of Track Masters was adjudged the best 'A' Division player.

Nugegoda Cagers won the Men's 'B' Division title beating All Greens 75-60 after leading 40-33 at half time. Thanushka de Alwis (24), Roshan Fernando (22), Gene de Silva (14) and Hasitha Wijeratne (11) who was adjudged the best player did most of the scoring for Nugegoda Cagers, while Mohamed Fawshan (21), Mohamed Ifthaz (16) and Roshanth Ranatunga (10) did well for All Greens.

Josephines won the Women's 'B' Division and Chethani Pieris was adjudged the best player, while Wennappuwa BC won the Men's 'C' Division title with Suneth Perera as the best player.
