Royal - easy win in Mini Regatta

Royal College oarsmen recorded a comfortable win over S. Thomas’ College 30 points to 10 at the 5th Annual Mini Regatta held on Thursday, October 19 on the Beira Waters.

With Thursday’s win by Royal, the tally stands at 2-all. In 2002 the Thomians won, Royal equalised, winning in 2003, Thomians won it again in 2004 and the 2005 regatta ended in a ‘tie’.

Royal crew won the ‘A’ Fours, ‘B’ Fours, ‘B’ Pairs and the ‘A’ Sculls to collect 30 points and Thomians points came from wins in ‘A’ Pairs and ‘B’ Sculls.

The ‘first-leg’ of the Royal-Thomian Waterpolo encounter will be played on Friday, October 27.
The annual tournament is played for the prestigious Dr. R. L. Hayman Trophy.

The ‘first-leg’ will be at the Royal College pool and the ‘second-leg’ will be on November 11 at the Thomian pool.
The matches will start at 4.30 p.m. on respective days. Last year, Thomians won it easily by 9 goals to 4.
